OUR CORPORATE CULTURE
Richard Linnell is the Non-Executive Chairman at Acrux Resources, with over 54 years’ global experience in the resource and energy sectors. Through his career Richard has held executive positions at the Rhodesian Geological Survey, Delta Metal Company, Murray and Roberts, Middleburg Steel & Alloys, Gencor, Samancor and BHP Billiton.
He established and was the Chairman of the New Africa Mining Fund and has sat on the boards of BHPBilliton South Africa, Coal of Africa Limited, MagIndustries Limited, as well as several other junior market companies listed on AIM, the TSX, the ASX and the JSE. He also represented the Mining Industry on the Electricity Supply Commission before it was incorporated as Eskom Limited.
He holds a BSc (Special Honours in Geology) from the University College of Rhodesia and Nyasaland (London).
Sean Browne is an Executive Director at Acrux Resources with 19 years’ experience in investment banking, commodity derivative sales, structuring and trading, FX and rates trading, debt capital markets, structured mining finance and deal origination. Sean has worked at Deutsche Bank, Standard Bank of South Africa and Standard Chartered Bank.
He holds a BA in Law and English and a Postgraduate diploma in Finance, Banking and Investment Management.
Geoff Linnell is an Executive Director at Acrux Resources. He has 25 years experience in commodity markets, physical commodity trading, supply chain management, junior mining and equity capital markets. …where he gained most of his experience in the resources sector.
He holds a BCom degree from the University of KwaZulu-Natal and a Certificate in Management from Henley Business School.
Lelo is an Non-Executive Director at Acrux Resources and the CEO of Ata Capital, a private equity fund manager focused on non-traditional alternative strategies. He has 18 years’ investment banking experience in debt capital markets, structured and leverage finance, and securitisation.
He has worked with Ata Capital, Deutsche Bank, Rand Merchant Bank and Morgan Stanley.
Lelo sits on the boards of Rain Group Holdings, SLG, Masana Petro Solutions, Southern African Venture Capital & Private Equity Association (SAVCA) and Remgro (Alternate).
He holds a BSc in Engineering (Hons) from the University of Cape Town and a FRM qualification from Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP).

He holds a BSc Hons in Geology from the University of Cape Town, an MSc in Sedimentology from the University of Reading and an MBA from the University of Cape Town.
Karel Potgieter is the Managing Director of Acrux Sorting Technology (AST), with 12 years’ experience in the mining industry. He has operational experience in the gold sector (JSE- and AIM-listed mining companies), with a unique skill sets on optimising marginal operations.
In recent years, he has focused on business development within the Acrux’s private equity business.
He holds a BCom degree from the University of Pretoria.
