ACRUX SORTING TECHNOLOGY

Acrux Sorting Technology (AST) provides ground-breaking technology that reduces the environmental footprint and liability of the mining sector, while simultaneously improving recoveries and reducing costs for resource owners.

Sensor-based sorting is an umbrella term covering all applications where defined physical characteristics such as atomic density, colour and spectrometry are used to differentiate particles. Where the sensors detect particles that fall outside of defined parameters, they are rejected by a focused jet of air, thereby protecting the value of the retained commodity.

PROBLEM & SOLUTION STATEMENT:
AN EXTRACTIVE INDUSTRY CHALLENGE

In partnership with IMS Engineering (IMS) and Ata Fund I, AST provides innovative sensor-based sorting technology to the industry on a fully funded, turnkey basis. AST upgrades the quality of mineral ore and extracts the full value from mineral resources to create a more environmentally friendly operation.

By unlocking additional value from marginal or uneconomical ore in an environmentally sound way, resource owners can reposition themselves on the cost curve while at the same time improving their ESG impact. The overall environmental footprint of an operation is reduced – from water usage as the technology requires no water, to greenhouse gas emissions and improved waste management due to reduced amount of tailings/ stockpiles produced.
